i run mandrake 8.1 on a cyrix 266, 2 gig hd(seagate or maxtor)
after about 15-20 minutes after startup, i always get a short beep, like the bootup beep but it seems a little lower tone.
I cant think of any bios setting that cause this (too old mobo for temp monitors) ,it happens in every desktop (use kde windowmaker and blackbox) but nothing happens and i've worked for hours with it afterwards.
Does anyone have a clue where i should start looking for this?
dont know if this is of any importance, i built the mobo in an old 486 dx servercase (about twice the normal case size)
could there be any signal that sends a 'wrong ' signal to the pc speaker or so? just guessing here.
