right now on my Norton firewall there was at least 30 "Default Block DeepThroat Trojan horse" warnings all together. I was using a program called The All-Seeing Eye, could that have caused it seeing as it scans servers and such. or was it something worse?

Here is a link that will shed some light on the Deep Throat Trojan: DTT (http://www.nsclean.com/psc-dt.html)

it says it doesn't work on NT machines and I have XP, so it was a false alarm :)

No, it said as of ver1.0 it did not infest nt types.

so there's a new version that does, there's nothing in the run keys.

I have a suspicion that your all seeing eye may be infected. I did not dl it when I saw it, I will just stick with sierra, thanks....
Please note that this is only a suspicion, and that it said that ver1.0 did not infest nt boxes, not that there was a new ver out.
I am going on the assumption that there is a newer ver about, possibly integrated with all seeing eye?

well I downloaded it from the offical site. my guess was since it is unregistered, when I update servers at peak hours it says scanner load too high, saving resources for registered users. I think it then switch to a slower port and that was the port for the trojan. any thing else it could be?

It's very possible the traffic on that port triggered the response even if it wasn't really that trojan at work.
That was an interesting read Redo40!
LOL I liked the list of things the "author" wrote:

Err.. okay. This is fun... why?
