not really sure where to put this so i'll put it here.

i have a virus on my computer it is called BKDR_NETDEVIL.15 and it is infecting my kernel32.dll file. how do i clean this? also i was reading on some ways i could get rid of it and they had me to end the task on the task manager. of course this can't be done because the system will most likely mess up. anyways, i was checking it out in task manager and i didn't see kernel32.dll, but i did see kernel32.dlI.

can anyone help me out on this one?

You could use system restore, or use System File Checker (SFC) from a command prompt. Just make sure you have the original files that started and activates the virus cleaned up.

reboot

SFC is not available in XP.
Take a look here:

That's cool, I've been telling people for a year that it wasn't availble in XP as well.
