does annyone out there know a good tutoroial on howto set up a dual boot between linux and win98SE.
i wish to convert to linux but i need to keep a windows partition for professional reasons.

Hi,
It is really quite painless, but if you have important stuff on your system, you should back it up first.
Your hard drive needs to have free space available or you could use a second drive to put linux onto.
When installing Red Hat, for instance, you will come to the section on partitioning the hard drive. Just tell it to use the FREE SPACE and make sure that the windows (fat) partition is left alone.
When it comes to the boot loader section (the part that allows choices on which system to start), just make sure that the windows system is listed also. Redhat calls any windows system "dos", but you can edit the name to something more meaningful.
I prefer to use the Grub boot loader because it is more current and has a more pleasing look than Lilo. :)
