If you use the boot disk, can you boot to Linux, or doesn't it work?
What bootloader were you using before?
It gives me only install or reinstall imfo.
I don't know, either Lilo or Grub.

Generally you want to boot the floppy disk, and it should leave you in your linux environment. Usually in level 5 (graphical), if you had the machine set up that way. Log in as root, and find the mandrake control center, and navigate into the 'Boot' section and you should be able to repair your MBR boot loader from there.
doctorgonzo & MAXimumSmoke:
Followed your instructions but needed a little more hand holding
so went to Mandy's home page & found this.
(Boot the CD, press escape & type rescue at the LILO prompt.
After awile you get a menu where you can choose to to reinstall
the LILO of the installed Mandrake system.) I'm back in buisiness.
Thanks for your help. It'll be a while till I get just a little handle on Linux.
