Appreciate some assistance.

Trying to help a friend with a ThinkPad 360CE (an oldie!!) running Windows 95 A.

Can only find one 340MB Hard drive inside, but when looking at My Computer, two hard drives show up. One is [C:], and the other is Host for C [H:]???

Where is the Host for C [H:] coming from? It shows up with a capacity of 328MB (312MB used).

Trying to understand. Any words of wisdon are certainly appreciated.

Yep, I second that. The drive is compressed and therefore it was automatically partitioned and the host part H: is uncompressed.

It's compressed drive alright, I actually tried it out on Monday, on a win95 machine with only 1.2GB of harddisk space. After installing win95OSR2, and installing Windows 2000 office, I actually use the system tools/utility 'Drivespace' to compressed it. On a pentium 1-233 MHZ, it took about 45 mins. At the end of the process, it tells me I actually saved 800MB of hard-disk space!!!

And actually, if you don't want the 'host for H ' to show up, you can actually 'hide' it. Just go to my computer, go to the c drive, right click on it, somewhere, there's a box I think, you can click.

Although I think there's a problem, when you try to deframent it, it will just 'do nothing', after you compresion.

Thanks for the replies.

It is a compressed drive.

Have never used the compression option before; couldn't understand what was going on.

Guess you gotta do something with only 340MB of Hard Disk space!!
