Is a USB 2.0 device compatible/able to connect to a USB 1.0 port?
What is the difference between the two??
Thanks Shiraz

USB 1.1 = 12 megabit data transfer
USB 2.0 = 480 megabit data transfer
You can run a USB 1.1 device in a USB 2.0 port, but may/may not be able to do it the other way around, and if you can, will be at an extreme sacrifice in performance.
USB 1.0: don't know
USB 1.1: max. 12mbps
USB 2.0: max. 480mbps
USB is backwards compatible, you can connect USB 1.1 devices into USB 2.0 ports and they will work.
Not sure about vice versa but i think USB 2.0 devices won't work in USB 1.1 ports.

As HAL9000 said: Yes, and No.... Some 2.0 devices will work in a 1.1 setup, and just operate very slowly. Other won't work at all.
You actually need to verify this on the particular device. Try visiting their Web site
