umm I need Help I dont have firewall or antivirus software..

Well a couple of months ago when I wiped my hard drive clean and restarted everything... I realized I didnt have an AV program or a firewall. Me being connected to cable internet... and downloading many things.. haha I think its time to get one after running my luck for 2 months. I dont really want to spend an arm and a leg on them either. ANy suggestions for a good AV program and a good firewall I can get? thanks a lot!

I use NOrton AV, but you can get AVG for free at this link

For a firewall I use Sygate PE which is also free from www.sygate.com
but a lot of people use Zone Alarm from www.zonelabs.com which is also free
I prefer Sygate because of it's interface.

AVG and Zone Alarm are what i use and have had no problems with either. I have heard good reports of Agnitum Outpost www.agnitum.com a firewall ad blocker and a basic censorship tool all in one. All are free.

ZoneAlaram is free and works great.
I haven't used GriSoft, but Amazon sold me Norton's 2003 for $26.
Unless some really good Hacker is after you the combo should stop cold any intruders.
And, if you've got major guys on your trail, "SheildsUp" will tell you your status.
