Which Mhz cable?

I'm a networking newbie. I'm interested in setting up a LAN through a router for two new computers that I will soon build. I'm probably going to take advantage of the onboard LAN capabilities of the Epox EP-8k5A2+. I looked at the specs and it said something like 10/100. Does that mean that it will transmit at 100? Under what conditions? I also had my eye on the DLink DI-604 D-Link Express router? Anyone have any opinions? Also, what's up with Cat5 cabling? I was shocked when I looked at newegg for pricing- what Mhz cable should I use (250, 500, etc.)?:eek:

Don't be confused by it all. Get the cheapest CAT5 cable you can find. The DLink router is as good as any, and better than some.
Any CAT5 cable will run at least 25 feet with no troubles. If you need to go further, then you may want to get slightly better cable.
The 10/100 designation means that it's dual-speed, either 10mbps or 100mbps, and plain old CAT5 can handle about 10 times that.

catalog number. I think they also carry 100'.
