I'm having problems using my new laptop with a wireless network. Specifically, I have the laptop (Win XP Home) and base (Win 2000 Pro) pinging each other, so I can transfer files fine - I just can't figure out how to configure the base's dial up modem to use from the laptop. I know it can be done, but I have yet to find the secret.
Please document VERY detailed instructions !
Thanks !!!!

the winxp will have a home network set up wizard run it from the my network places and select the options you want at the end of the setup it asks if you want to make a network disk make the disk and use it on the win2k comp and it runs the same wizard

Therein lies the problem, Andy..... W2K Pro will not run the netsetup on the XP disc. I apparently need to configure this thing manually - at least on the W2K side.
A couple of questions that might help out - how do I actually log on thru the other computer? Do I need to drop a shortcut to the dial up somewhere? Or do I just click on IE somehow? I can only access shared folders, so I apparently can't get to the desktop.
Any suggestions????????

you should be able to configure acces to the dial up on a sort of "dial on demand" basis, where you click to go on the internet with you laptop and, as long as your W2K PC is on it should dial up, at least thats how mine works, the only difference is the laptop and desktop are both running XP and they are physically linked via cable.
have you set your drives and connection as shared?
