I can use the wizard to burn cd copies no problem, but how do I save a copy of a cd to a file so that I can burn repeated copies from the file? And not have to read the original cd over and over?
nero is not very user friendly...
thanks for your help

Click on more at the bottom, and then click on 'Save Tracks To HD".

You need to save them to your HD in the WAVE format. You will need a lot HD space, about 750 mbs per cd. Open Nero, chose "recorder" then chose "save track", it will show you a list of your cdrom and burner, chose the proper one, click ok. It will then be looking for the cd, put the cd you want to burn from into the burner. You will then see a list of the songs. Then chose "output format", then chose "wave. Your next option is "path", it should automatically show "c:/ahead/my music". This is the best place to burn the music to. You can create a separate file and place it anywhere, but must direct the burned songs to that file by changing the "path". Then highlight the song you want to burn, it will do so and send it to the file in the "path". To Burn the cd, when you have burned the songs, select the "new icon", far left, and it will open "audio 1". Go to the folder in which the songs are saved , it will be on the opposite side or "Audio 1, right click the chosen song, a drop down file will open, chose "save to compilation and it will automatically add it to the list to burn. When the amount of songs reaches the limit of the cd, 740 mb or 800 mb it will show on the bottom of the screen. Hit the burn icon and then insert your cd to burn, it will then begin the burn and show you its progress. It is best to check the capable burn rate before burning so you now the fastest burn rate available and set the burn rate to that number.
Finally, here is a tip to keep in mind, when saving songs, us a new folder for each cd you intend to burn or rename them as you go, if you do not and you burn from several cd's, if you burn the same track number from diffeent cds, it will ask if you want to overwrite the same numbered song already saved, if you rename them it will not do this.

Hoffman, he never said he was burning songs.
Actually Rdlain, the app is quite user friendly, just need patience and learn it. If you are doing a data cd all you need to do when completeing the initial burn you will be prompted if you want to keep the image, say yes, then name it and save it to the location of your choice. When wanting to burn another CD of that, just open the image and burn away.

After you choose WRITE CD a new window will pop-up inside this window check the box that says CREATE IMAGE. This check box is located just above the WRITE SPEED INDICATOR.
USE THE WIZARD MODE....
Upgrade to the latest version of Nero and use the Express interface - it's a lot more user friendly. The upgrade is free if you already have 5.x.
To create an image file, just choose "image recorder" instead of your burner in the destination drive. Even if you choose the burner, you can set it to burn multiple copies if you are doing it all at once.
