I cannot get IE to open maximized when using "open in new window". I have tried the old trick, open a blank one, and then resize it, and then close it, but it's not working. Is there somewhere in the registry that says where to do this? Or am I just doing something wrong? I am using XP Pro. Thanx.

Open Internet Explorer and go to Tools. Click on Internet Options and go to the Advanced Tab and find the button that says Restore Defaults. Click on it and see if that works. I am not sure though but it is worth a try.

Hold the shift key down when you close the resized window.

Just want to join this thread, as I've tried about 6 - 7 different things and never have gotten the Open in New Window to open Full size either....

did you hold down the shift key when you clicked on the link, thats the way it works for me.One trick to absolutely force what mode it opens in is to create a shortcut to IE and then you can change the shortcut properties to open max, normal or even minimized every time. You link html to open with the shortcut by using 'open as' and selecting to always use the shortcut. You can do the same thing with the control panel, my computer and anything else that normally doesn't give you the option.

Yeah, I held down the shift key when i clicked on the link, and when I closed it. Actually, tried every combination I could think of. I have shortcuts made to open maximized, but that has had no effect on "open in new window". I tried making a new shortcut, and doing what you said, about linking to it, and it says that it isn't a valid win32 application. So I must be doing something wrong.

The only work-around I found is to manual stretch the new window to as much of full size as I can. That way, when you open in a new window, it at least looks like it is maximized....

I fixed it, here is what I did. I opened IE and right clicked any URL that will give you the 'Open in New Window' option and opened it. Then I closed the first IE window that was open. Then drag the borders of the second window to fill the screen (Do not use the maximize button). Now hold the 'CTRL' key and click the 'X' to close the window. Hopefully this will help anyone else having problems. Thanx for everyones help.

Wow. That's kinda rediculous. I don't use IE, so I didn't realize this happened, but I just checked it out, and that would bug the hell out of me not having new windows maximized. Glad I don't use IE :D

Hey, homey, I've downloaded but haven't tried it yet... Have you used it?? If so, how do you like it??

What are you using, RenegadeKing??

Mozilla. Every now and then Someone will give me a link that refuses to work right in it, but I can deal. It's better than IE IMHO.

That's what Netscape is based on.... Hope it's better than Netscape 6.x, which was sooooo buggy I booted it off my system and (reluctantly) switched to IE. I've been using Netscape from when it was late 1.x / early 2.x and always loved it, until AOL bought them......

Mozilla is based on netscape. When netscape released the source they took it and made it mozilla. It looks like the old netscape. Not the new netscapes.

Hi TwoRails,

I use IE 5.5 in Windows and Mozilla in Linux. :)

I haven't tried that product yet, just thought that it may be what you're looking for as there doesn't seem to be any other real sollutions to that situation.

Thanks again, homey. I've had enough little utilities that create more problems than cure them, so I was hopein' you tryed it.... I like that little extra boost in confidence....

Well.... still no luck for me :( I just tried it again, a couple of time, and a couple of variations (left / right Ctrl, etc), but still no luck.
