I have win xp with officexp w/frontpage and I want to know how to download an entire website for viewing offline. And if I can set it up to put onto my laptop which also has xp, but not office or front page.

I have saved web pages before, but this time I'd like to get the entire site and be able to use the links and all...offline. (links to sound and other pages within the website) It seems like I have heard of this before, but I cannot find it now. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

You could try Superbot:

It works fine for me for reasonably compact, simple sites, but I have not tried it for any sites with cgi-bin or any other more 'complex' web stuff.

Post back to ay what you think and especially if you try it with sites using those kinds of things.

you could always go to every page on the site and go to File>save as ...lol, but that may take some time ;)

Friendly advice.
Keep in mind what people have on their websites tend to take up a lot of space. Keep that in mind when wanting to keep an entire website.

Also, a lot of content will not download to your browser for obvious reasons of protecting their content.

Thanks, I'll try the Superbot. This is a guitar lesson site that I subscribed to and he says that I can download it for use off line, but I guess it's up to me to find out how.

Actually, the easiest way to do it is through an FTP client if you have the author's permission. (You'll need a password.)

try webzip--it eats everythign up and dumps all the info neatly into a folder!!

go to www.cnet.com and they have a couple(more than a couple )that u canplay with
and like iman said keep in mind that some pages carry large files that u might not be able to see--these programs are ood for small personal files.but form my experience generally web site are no more than 10mb unless its a coporate site or has alot of pictures or multimedia

I use HTTrack Website Copier (http://www.httrack.com/index.php) when I need to copy a site. It follows every link up to 9 layers deep.
