dreamweaver mx and avi

i was just wondering how i can include an avi file in an html page.

Insert a hyperlink linking to the file. The file has to be uploaded to the server to be available. If you're not familiar with Dreamweaver MX, just click insert, hyperlink. A dialog box will pop up. Fill it out & click ok.

well, i understand having to put a link to the file so it can be viewed with a media player, but what i wanted to know is how to embed the avi file into the page.
