My friends computer crashed.. and he has to do a powerpoint presentation for school. The computers at school have like some older version of Powerpoint before Microsoft Works XP. I have Microsoft Works XP Professional... so if he makes his powerpoint presentation on my computer.. will it work with the older versions of powerpoint? Is it backwards compatible? thanks a lot!
**sorry I posted in wrong place.. i dont know how I got in teh for sale place??**
It sorta depends upon the versions of Powerpoint you are talking about. But if he knows what version the school is using you can save the PowerPoint file in that format as long as it is not too old.
I don't use PowerPoint a whole lot but I have successfully saved files made in Office 2000 to Office 95 format. My 2000 version has the option to go back to 4.0 but it has always failed for me.
I would think a university wouldn't be running anything older than Office97 and Office XP can do that just fine. You may not be able to incorporate all of the new features in the presentation however.
