S3 Diamond has three different versions of the Supra Express modem listed at their site. Well, at least two aside from the full retail version, which I'm familiar with. The remaining two are OEM pieces, but the illustrations appear to be different boards. Is anyone familiar with these two? How do they differ from the retail version? Diamond's brief description seems to be the same for all three! You can check 'em out here.....

Thanks

If those are the "Steals and Deals" ones, the $24.95 one is the speakerphone model that has no speaker - you need an external jumper to hook it to the sound card. It's the equivalent of the 56i SP. The $29 one is the 56i. It has no speakerphone, but it does have an onboard speaker and com port jumpers. Last we checked, the $29 one was sold out. The $39 retail box is an old Flex modem that's flashable to V.90. I don't think *any* of them are ACF2 - they are straight ACF.

Thanks GLC....
ACF...ACF2...?? I'm not familiar with those acronyms. Would you be kind enough to run 'em down for me?
Thanks again!
Keith
Those are Rockwell/Conexant hardware chipsets. The ACF2 is the latest and greatest - the ACF is the previous version. Stands for Asynchronous Control Function. HCF stands for Host Control Function - that's a software controlled chipset - i.e. winmodem.
