I am going to build my own system and am concerned with compatibility of my components.

1. Athlon 800Mhz Thunderbird CPU (have)
2. ASUS A7V Mobo
3. Kingston 128MB RAM (1 stick) (have)
4. IBM 30MB ATA100 Hard drive
5. Diamond Viper II Video Card (have)
6. Pioneer DVD (have)
7. HP 9300 CD-RW
8. Teac/Mitsumi Floppy
9. SB Live sound card
10. In-Win or Enlight Mid tower case
11. 250 or 300W power supply

A. How many fans will I need?
B. Will all these parts work together?
C. 250 or 300W power supply?
D. If I connect everything correctly what can I expect to go wrong?

Thanks for any help!!!!

Go ahead and get a 300 watt power supply. More drives is more juice, the price difference doesn't justify getting less than 300.

Is the video card agp or pci? I've heard of folks with problems getting known-working pci video cards to work on Athlon boards. There's a setting in the A7V bios to look for a pci video card instead of agp, but you'd have a helluva time changing that setting with no video (use the force, my son ;)).

Everything else should be fine.
