I have a Creative Soundblaster Platinum sound card, and a Cambridge, FPS 2000 4 speaker, one subwoofer setup. The speakers all work with the woofer, and all the demo effects work fine, with good volume.
I am however getting some static from the real speakers. Not terrible, but not a clean sound as it should be. I have the two rear speakers next to the monitor, and the other two out to the sides more. The subwoofer is on the floor, in the corner behind the desk. I do have a lot of wires running around the subwoofer and my battery back-up surge protector is nearby.
I'm not sure if this is a sound card problem, or electrical interference with the speakers??
I've checked the Creative Website, but didn't get much info there, and the troubleshooting guide in the manual mostly addresses no sound out of speakers and stuff like that.
Any suggestions?

Problem solved. It was a connection problem at the sound card. Not very good markings on what is rear and what is front plug. Seems to be working better.
