I recently downloaded a download manager so I can resume my downloads over http.. big mistake. I uninstalled it a day later, ran ad aware with the latest signature file, removed everything it found, but theres still one thing that I can't get rid of.
Everytime my PC starts, this thing called music search online is loaded into my tray. it's on in my startup menu or in msconfig's startup list. I ran a search for wcb1.exe, the file name, and nothing comes up.
how do i get rid of this?!?!?

one more thing, the line "http://tjar.com/passthrough/index.html?" keeps getting added right before my home page in "home page" address in internet options. everytime i restart the PC it all comes back
Holy p00p - I loaded up tjar.com and it popped about 5 pages at me, it's part of the lop.com family of scumware.
Load up this page and read it, be prepared for massive popup attacks. There are removal instructions there but I don't know if they work.

I'm using Get Right.
Opera's download manager works fine for me, as does BulletProof FTP.

I really like StarDownloader, and it's truly free, unlike GetRight.

I jsut put stardownloader on last night. Haven't used it yet. reboot, does it work like DAP? I used to use dap before it got ungodly ad heavy. As for the scumware, maybe spybot search and destroy?
