volume control

Does anyone know how I can get my volume control back in my taskbar? When I go to the volume tab under the Sounds and Audio devices properties window and check the "place volume icon in the taskbar" box and apply, I get this error message:

"Windows cannot display the volume control on the taskbar because the Volume Control program has not been installed.
To install it use Add/Remove Programs in Control Panel"

There isn't anything in the Add/Remove Programs window that even looks close to what I need. I don't remember ever unistalling it.

Any ideas?

Oh and I still can control my volume with the slide bar in that "Sounds and Audio Devices Properties" window, just no taskbar icon.

What is your Soundcard. Usally the Taskbar program comes with your Card to use the features on your Sound.

I know this is an extremely old post but I will jsut post what I did if anyone else seems to have the same problem...I went to microsoft and did a simple search...here ya go
