I know I've tried this in the past, but I've revamped the server and added a working copy of Linux. If you want to join you may do so at:
68.99.174.92:27015
Please try it out and let me know of any problems. I'll be customizing it later this evening. If you want any particular maps, please email them to tiretool@pcmech.com
Thanks!

Are all skill levels welcome? I haven't been playing long but it sure would be nice to find a friendly server.

Jay: If people will act as friendly as they do here, you won't have any troubles. I"m also sure it will be properly moderated.

I can't find anything at that IP. You sure you typed it right?

Server was behind firewall.... I assigned my outside IP address to the Linux box now... so it "should" work. Wife helped me out. I guess the Linux and Cisco classes are paying off. :)
Try again please :)

OK folks, I'm afraid until I get this problem (http://forum.pcmech.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=53484) figured out, the server won't be reachable from the outside.
Sorry... I'll update as soon as it is.

Link is fixed... and possibly the server too...
Anyone who wants to test it out, please do so. And leave your critique here afterwards. If the server was good or bad... I need the feedback.
You can connect at 68.99.174.92:27015
or if you do an update of current servers, look for the one titled "PC Mechanic Dedicated Counter Strike Server"
Thanks

Oh i see it! Nobody there right now though. 8 man servers are nice b/c they don't get to crowded. If I may make a suggestion, please put Iceworld and Iceworld2k on there plz (unless its already there). Those maps can be fun with 8 ppl.
I'm looking forward to playing with everyone! :D
Oh yeah, my alias is -=Sphynx=- So if you see that name, you better prepare to die! lol, or kill...maybe

Would you mind posting the IP address that shows up by the server when you highlight the server in the list, and click Server Info please? Thank you!
And also... if you prefer certain maps, you'll have to post a link to where I can download them from. Thanks.

Its the same IP you listed in the first thread. And what about server info?
HERE (http://www.cs-maps.us/) is a link to a nice site with just about every map there is.

I'm assuming that there's either a problem with my router, or my connection speed. I'm on cable with capped uploads. Upload speed is very necessary for a good running server... (sigh)
Oh well... I'll keep trying to get the kinks worked out.

If it is one of the little $50 4-porters sold as siemens and so on, it simply can't cope with the two way activity that a game server generates. I have seen this before in the same situation. If you have a older pentium laying about, that would be killer as a smoothwall fwall for your network. No bandwidth probs with that kind of routing.

Got a good webpage that will show me how to make a router out of a pc?
