Another old friend has passed on; a lifelong friend at that. Some of the younguns in these parts may never have heard/saw him. But to me, a good friend gone, who was always laid back and just a good old boy:

I'm gonna show my age - I remember him in The Real McCoys.

When I was a little kid, I remember watching him play a high schooler in "Our Miss Brooks".

I never saw the tv series Our Miss Brookes. We didn't have TV until I was 17 or so.
But Our Miss Brookes was one of families favorite radio shows.
The older you get the more the familiar seems to pass on. Although one doesn't need it they are constant reminders of ones own mortality.
Have lost 4 good friends in the past year alone.

We watched very little TV growing up and I still seldom sit down and watch anything other than college football and a little news. I did enjoy Richard Crenna in a number of movies. Sad to hear of his passing.

Oh, I like that term "seasoned citizens". Is that something along the lines of "rode hard and put away wet"?
It is sad to see him go. His general manner always struck a chord in me. I always thought, "If I could be like that..."

I thought he was a very good actor and will be missed.

Richard Crenna was a very good actor. Among my favorite Crenna roles was the commanding officer in The Sand Pebbles. Like a lot of folks here I saw him first when he was playing a teenager (I think he was in his middle twenties) on Our Miss Brooks. I was a baby at the time and I might have been watching reruns. My memory of him, however, is focused by his work in The Real McCoys. Even as late as 2002 he continued his professional life portraying Tyne Dailey's love interest in Judging Amie. (My wife loves that show-- I go to the computer whenever it comes on because I get enough of that stuff in real life. )
Crenna will be missed by my generation.
