Watercooling..

what do you guys think is the better watercooling system? I am looking to watercool my system but am not sure what one is the best.

Are you going to overclock your system? If not, I wouldn't bother with water cooling.

oh well right now i just want to know what you guys think is the best 1. but so far no one on this forum is really into the whole idea of watercooling. so im kinda stuck on this 1 i think.

Watercooling isn't necessary even when overclocking to any normal limits. That's probably why nobody get's all excited about it, plus it's pretty expensive for the little if any gain you get.

I haven't ever used any of the products that are available. If I wanted to water cool I might but the actual heatsink, but I would mostly have it machined and put the rest of it togethor myself. I don't like they way they plumb the coolant paths. You could put togethor a way cooler setup using threaded connections for the money. One that would be much less likely to leak. Most of them use water which not a good long term coolant.

There are alot of reasons not to do it but if you want to badly enough you could build a set up that is really cool(pardon the pun). Besides you still need a fan for the radiator.

We're not trying to give you the cold shoulder. But, IMO, watercooling was big in the days of 300-500mhz cpus. That's when overclocking was in its hayday. I also remember when water cooling was a big deal.

Today, cpu's are faster than your other system components, so overclocking is less of an issue. Cpu's are also cheaper than ever.

So I guess what other members are trying to say is there are better things to spend your money on.

Watercooling would be a fun project to do (as the matter of fact I was considering it myself at one point-- and may still try it sometime in the future). If you want a quieter system and are willing to take the risk and also have the money to replace your components if something goes wrong, it might be worth checking into. HTH
