Hi !

I'd like to build my next computer since middle of last December,
I'm waiting for my Asus p4g8x deluxe or Gigabyte ga-8inxp mobo but I couldn't get one of them yet. Those DDR boards support the 266DDR but in dual channel. Regarding the tests the Rambus1066 is way faster yet vs dual channel266.
The other news predict the Intel won't support really the Rambus anymore..... Other news talking about the new single 400DDR support and you already able to buy the 466MHz DDR's...

Since I want my new system asap, I don't really want to wait weeks 'till I get one of the board above - I'm really thinking about to buy the ASUS P4T533-C with 1066Rambus... Gigabit ethernet won't be on the board, Firewire and serial ATA either what I'd like to have.

What do you think ? Should I wait a little bit more and get the dual channel board or just buy the Rambus kind of ?
I'm just afraid when I get the granit bay board w/266 support,
that time the dual/333 will come out...

One more thing what isn't clear for me :
The AGP Pro is compatible with the 8xAGP ? I'm not a big videoguru but I'd like to have the 8x support. The dual channel boards above support that, p4g8x has agp8x pro slot the gigabyte has 8xagp only...

I would wait for a dual-channel DDR board; Rambus seems to be a lost cause right now, and the best dual-channel boards will rival Rambus performance-wise. Regular AGP 8X cards will work in an AGP 8x Pro slot.

Same here, the Rambus expense vs. the DDR is only one reason Rambus is out.
