I used the Spyder program to delete any url's held on my hard drive what is the quickest way to double check that they have been indeed deleted.

I would take a guess and say try typing a url that you know was deleted. If it auto-completes the url before you are done typing, chances are the url is still there.
If not, it's probably gone.
