Hello all,
Im running Windows XP Pro, and i have 3 user accounts, and i copied and pasted a few things over to the other 2 accounts
( limited accounts ) - winamp - aim maybe a few other things, but they dont work at all, ( i right clicked on my start menu to copy and paste these progs to the other accounts ) not only they dont work, but when u switch user and use the other accounts then log off those accounts ( main account still on ) and stay on the log on screen it freezes and i would have to reboot my computer, is anybody familar with this ? this neva happend before till this install, how can i make the progs work and also stop it from freezing ? because i dont always finish everything im doin on the main user account and it is very inconvient when it frezzes...

hi , I think it's not the proper way to copy programs just by cut n paste and expect it to work- it is however that way, in the good old Dos programs in the yester-days. You see, most programs will need to be install, by using the 'Add n Remove Programs'. You should know what to do next. Goodluck !

yea but your saying that i should download and install aim and winamp in my other limited accounts on my xp again ? or u saying that the add remove progs on the limited user accounts will have the winamp/aim? if it does then how come it dont go on the startmenu when i create the limited account like the other progs did ? i never did it like this i jus right click on my startmenu and copy and paste to the other accounts and they worked on all the other installs but this one it wont work, but the bigger problem is that it freezes- when u go in to one of the limited accounts ( with the admin rights account still logged on ) and then u log off the limited account then like bout a few hours later the computer freezes....the only account that is still loged on is the admin rights account and i leave my computer on all the time with the admin rights account logged on........i only reboot and turn the computer off once in a while....i didnt have time yet but tonite i will go home and retry the aim and winamp and see if the comuter freezes at all....but in the mean time has anybody had this problem @ all....

After copying the program over to the other accounts, did u install the program ?

Usually, if logged on to the other user account, your main account couldn't be possibly on . That might have been a illegal move, as u says it hanged the computer.

I would try this:

Logon to the other user accounts, uninstall the program- Winamps.
Reboot the computer, and logon to the user account.
Locate the Winamps setup files which you've copied.
Re-install the Winamps.
See whether it works.
If it doesn't, what errors are displayed ?
Are the proper mulit-media devices drivers installed properly?

If it still doesnt' work- might be a corrupted program.
Try downloading a fresh copy.
