I've been carefully working my way through the Services using the guide from Black Viper's site.
One that has me alittle confused is the "Still Image Service". It is set to automatic but I would like to know what it does and can I disable it.

It looks like Still Image Service is used for devices like scanners and web cams. It also has a security flaw. If you don't have a scanner or camera or anything else that takes still pictures, it is probably best to disable it.

doctorgonzo,
Yep, I have a scanner. Guess I'll leave it on automatic.
What kind of security flaw?
Thanks for your reply.

After reading the information at the link doctorgonzo supplied, I came to the conclusion that I don't need Still Image set to automatic.
If you have 2 or more users, I can see the reason for having it running. This is a stand alone pc and I am the only user so security is not an issue.
