musicality

Well I guess I'm one of the new kids on the block. Just wanted say hello and that I hope I can be helpful around here as so many of you currently are.
To give you some background on who I am, I am currently a session musician living just outside of Lansing, Michigan. But most of my week revolves around studio sessions in Detroit or Chicago. I am just getting involved in recording my own music and have been trying for the last few weeks to get up and running with my computer in those regards. (I have a post in the General Software Forum for anyone interested in helping.) My knowledge of computers is ever growing but much of my learning has revolved around my music career. I'm hoping that my journeys here will broaden my general knowledge of my little beast. But I do have one feather in my cap, I did make this little baby from scratch. Took some time to get the parts right, but I'm happy with her and the benchmarks show that I was right in taking the time to build rather than just buy off the shelf.
Other than that, I used to work for Sony USA as a sales rep, and I've also worked as a car saleperson. I love to play racquetball and am currently one of the highest ranked player in Michigan.
And I'd like to say something about this site in general: Many tech-related sites are nothing more than forums for the people who know to shove their knowledge into the faces of those who don't know. From what I have seen thus far, that is not the case here.
John.
