Hello
Ive just formated and installed windows 98se on my mums old computer but because i don't have the display drivers the screen is in 640 by 480 & 16 colours and i can't adjust it..
Ive had a look on the video card but can't see any make on it and also i have run the Belarc program to try to find out the make so i can go and download the drivers but all it says is DISPLAY = Standard pci graphics adapter (VGA) ..even though its in an agp slot ?
How can i download the drivers for the video card if i have no idea what make it is ???please help as they want the computer back tommorw .. ..
Thanks
gavin...

Hi,
Can you find an FCC ID number on the card? Are there any other labels on the card (on either side of it)? If so, what do they say? HTH

Go here and get belarc advisor (http://www.belarc.com/free_download.html) . Easy to install and it will tell you a lot of info about your pc including display info. And free.

there is no other writing or numbers on the board? I tried a fcc search on the 1x0 number and no luck. When you had it in the pc and went to display properties was there any other info?

I managed to ID one by looking up the chip numbers on Google and then going to the pages and matching the pictures till I found one . Not a quick process though.

get into system and check if your computer has identified it under hardware.

If i go into system etc all it says is Standard pci graphics adapter (why does it say this when its agp ?).
Im really struggling with this one and can see im going to end up having to put an old pci graphics card i have lying around in (which i don't want to do)..
Wish i never said id help them now :( :(
gavin...
That might be a Jaton 3D Force G-16, which uses a Trident Blade T64 chipset.
