Is it possible to hook up a DVD player to my video capture card and capture DVD to a video file? I have a Pinnacle DC10plus video card that has a standard RCA video input jack. I record from my VCR and camcorder all the time but I was wondering if I hooked up my DVD player, would there be a bandwidth problem etc.?

afaik, it would be the same thing as hooking up a VCR or camcorder. the same jacks all work on a t.v. and what not.
As long as your capture software can disable macrovision, assuming you're gonna be working with DVDs that have that crap on them.

I didn't think about macrovision. How can I find out if my card has that ability?
You'll need another program to use instead of the video card's capture software that has the ability to disable it if it causes a problem.
Dscaler will be able to clean it up a bit, but you might still have some purple lines in the final video.

I found this article and it says Pinnacle capture cards are not affected by macrovision

Maybe, but you're looking at anywhere from a hundred to a thousand dollars for even a used Pinnacle capture card.
If all you want are video clips from your DVDs, you're going about it the wrong way ;). Rip the DVD on your PC and extract the audio and video, then edit them, rather than capture the audio and video from an external DVD player.
