There might be a need for a few mods in this forum ;)

YES! 9th post in the first thread... now that's one to go down in the books... But anyways.. what does multimedia include? Like music and movies? or "I'm having a problem with my soundcard?"

Force Flow
02-24-2003, 07:51 PM
Depends...

If it's about "what's your favorite..." it still goes in general discussion. If its about how to create movies and music, then it goes here. ;)

well I might as well get my fet wet too
here is what I got
sony dru-500ax
ati aiw 8500 128
light-on dvd rom

a big box of vhs tapes
2 vhs decks

I want to put the tapes on the dvd's

so I need to play the tapes as if it was a tv
then while it is playing, capture it to my hard drive inthe correct format ( resulation ) so that dvd studieo can render it as a movie file ( mpeg-2 ) then use the burner to burn it to the cdon a dvd+ disk

is this correct ?

I tried to use preimer but it would not reconized thr ati file extension
that it was saved to the hd with.
what am I doing wrong.

bummer, guess this should have been a new thread.

MOVED TO NEW THREAD

You are capturing the VHS film with Premiere, correct? I believe it saves the actual movie files as avi, by default. Look in the "x:\program files\adobe\premiere" folder (and possibly sub folders) for the captured movie. It goes in the program's folder by default.

[edit]: A new thread would have been a good idea, but oh well...

I did create a new thread, so please delete this post

Boy, I'm gonna be asking some stupid, basic questions here.

Even though he isn't a mod, I think RJ will be good help.

RJ, take it easy on me, I'm new.:D

Yippee! This is so great.

Kubie: I've been asking stupid questions since I joined pcmech, and even stupider ones with the MultiMedia thread.

[edit] Just checked other threads in this forum: Xayd and Force_Flow, you look like good candidates for additional mods. You know answers to so many questions.

I agree with ya Logan, Craig would have been a huge help to this forum, and a prime choice for moderator.

Thanks for the compliment! :)

By the way, Xayd is already a mod; he's listed as the mod for the "Internet and WWW" forum. ;)

We are choosing mods for the new forums as we speak in the Admin forum, following our established procedures of nominations and votes. We are not going to be bringing any new mods on board at this time, but reassigning existing mods. Drisley is the temporary "mod" for the new forums until we complete our procedures. In reality, it really doesn't make much difference because the whole staff has mod authority in all forums and we do check our other "forums of interest" in addition to our primary responsibilities.

I still think that audiyoda would probably have been the best choice for moderator of this forum. It's really a shame that he was bannded, really. Of all people here he knew the most on this topic and was very helpful at that.

Yes, it is quite unfortunate that the guy could not abide by the forum rules and show respect for other members after multiple warnings by staff. As I’ve said now to you for the 3rd time in under 30 minutes, he was banned by a majority vote of moderators not too long ago, and the choice was final.

I would view that as a loss for the forum as a whole then.
