I just bought a Labtec USB microphone for online gaming, I thought it would be cool to trash talk as I'm blowing someone's head off :D Anyway the thing doesn't work in any application, not even in accessories/sound recorder. It came with out any drivers or software. I have clicked volume then options then properties then microphone then unmuted it then turned the mics volume half way up still nothing. My game's Voice_tweaker.exe won't even start the configuration wizard because it say there is no Mic volume. Went to Labtec.com that was a dead end. Did everything they suggested (explained above). Please help!

The volume controls would refer to your sound card inputs/outputs.

Has the mic been detected by windows? Check the device manager to see if it is recognized, if it has an exclaimation mark on it, or it listed as an "other" device. If "other", it's most likely you're going to need 3rd party drivers for it.

no nothing is in device manager thats listed as microphone, just usb controller, usb speakers and usb digital audio. I'm sorry I should have mentioned that. Ok, now what kind of drivers would I be looking for and where.

Well, it sounds like your system isn't detecting the mic at all. Do you know the make and model of it?

Yes, Labtec Verse 704. It's the latest one they have out. I bought it 2.14.03. It has a on/off button on the stand that is illuminated when on, which it does. So, its got power from the usb just no recognition. I have emailed Labtec, but you know how quickly those replies come back.
