Ok, I am thinking in the near future I might like a Capture Card for my computer. I would like one that has the ability to watch Cable TV on it, and Possibly record to the hard drive.
I don't know how much I am going to be willing to spend but I am looking for ideas now, so I can compare and watch for speicals maybe.

I use the ATI TV Wonder VE. Works great as far a watching TV. I have cable and just got a splitter and a short piece of coax from Radio Shack. I'm having problems with the VCR function. I'm able to record programs but don't have any sound. I'm running XP Pro and haven't been able to get problem resolved as of yet. But works great watching though.

hi byte:
I have been useing the ati all in wonder video card,
also used it in most of my builds, works great with windows xp or 98se.
I have the 8500 right now and I am very happy with it, also it is in my last 5 builds (family ) and everyone also is very happy with it.
it is doing a great job in the digital recording, and anything else I can try doing with it. also the 3dmark score in in the 8905 range at the moment without any changes, in fact during the test, some were run that the older card did not support, and the graphics are great.
not trying to sell you on it, but it is doing a great job for me.

be sure that you are feeding the audeo from the video cards output to the sound card line input

I recently upgraded from an ATI TV Wonder VE to a Leadtek Winfast 2000XP and cannot believe the difference. The picture is much sharper and has an FM tuner and a remote. Seeing as newegg has them on special right now for about $55 plus shipping, I can't really see another option unless you are interested in spending big money. I have been doing some digital recording with no problem and it also offers a timeshift feature (similar to TiVo, I think). Now that I have started this, maybe I'll have to write a small article for the new hardware review section.

I don't think I was able to find the card you posted about. It sounds very nice, do you have a link?

that card looks really good, found it at Newegg cheaper then pricewatch. I will probably get that one.
