Yep - it finally happened - I lost my mind... there are all those lovely shiny graphics cards out there and I want to go back to using my old Voodoo 1 :)
The problem is the graphics card already in my pc is a Voodoo 3 - but it isn't a happy bunny - I think it's overheating (despite the great big fan I stuck on it)... so I thought I'd do a bit of retro gaming and play some of the titles that used hardware acceleration only on Voodoo1.
Question is: what should I do with the Voodoo 3? It has to stay in there to handle 2d graphics - at the moment I've gone into advanced settings and turned 'hardware acceleration' off (that's the only way I can avoid the thing crashing my pc every ten minutes). Should I completely uninstall the drivers for it before installing the Voodoo 1? Will its 2d functions still work properly if I do this? Are there likely to be any problems doing this?
Thanks to anyone who sees fit to offer advice.
And if you think this is a weird request then you should look at this thread:
