Well I tried to get both pics on the same post and couldn't so the only way,,,,,,,, oh crap, now I see what you mean. 'Cause I'm just a dumb weldor, thats why. I probably don't even have a right to be posting here anyway! Sorry for the screw up.
To answer your question, they monitor your fan speeds and temps, and move USB, Firewire, sound, game, ports to the front of the case.

No problem with the two threads, just thought it would be better to have both posts in the same thread.
Anyway, the second one looks cooler with the see-thru plastic face plates. But since I have no clue about the folks that make these devices, it's hard to say which would be the better quality part.

I've combined the two threads.
I've put a couple of the Vantecs in and they are nice. I'm not sure how accurate the thermometer was. Be careful that you have enough clearance if your case has a door over the drives.

Thanks Doc for straightening out my mess up. You know I'm just looking to fill up the bays and thought it would be neat to be able to control the case fan speeds and know what the system temp is at a glance. I'm sure that the temps wouldn't be entirely accurate, but I assume they would be close. I have the Thermaltake HSF, the copper one with the three speed controller that I have to open the side to change. See pic. It is loud when on high so I have it set to low. I creates a whirl wind on high.lol
