I have my new system built a month ago and I installed a Leadteck 128 mb VIVO video card on it. I made a mistake and installed all the free programs on the HD and now the computer shuts itself off, back to the desktop after couple of seconds of playing some games. I decided that I had it enough and I want to reformat the HD. If any of you have a better ideea will be apreciated. Please, explain how to reformat the HD under XP?

Hav eyou tried getting rid of the junk first? If not go to www.aurelitec.com/software/arplus/ and DL a demo of Add/Remove plus and get rid of the shareware and junk. The go to www.jv16.org and get regcleaner. Run it an when it opens look on the list for any of these files, then go to tools and under registy cleanup select do them all, the select all and remove. See if that helps the problem.

If you do want to reformat, just boot with the XP cd, choose setup, and you will have a choice to reformat the drive as part of the setup.
