I have been using a SMC Barricade 7004VBR. It was working great until it hit the floor. (LOL, don't ask)
Now I'm in the market for a new router. I've been looking at the
Linksys BEFSX41
Netgear FR114P
Barricade 7004VBR
The reason I chose these three is because I want SPI Firewall.
I need your reccomendations on these three, or suggestions of others I'm not aware of.
Thanks Guys.

Just from reading post on this forum I would probably drop Netgear from list.
I use a SMC and have been pleased. Others here swear Linksys is best. Pick one and go with it. You probably won't be wrong.

I have a Linksys BEFSR41 that I bought to replace a crappy Belkin and I'm very happy with it. I haven't used any other brands so I can't say anything about the others on the list.

I don't think you can go wrong with either the SMC or Linksys, haven't dealt with any netgear.

I have a Linksys BEFW11S4 from buy.com for $79.99. I hooked up 3 PC's and a Laptop for $269.00 and all wireless.

I have the Barricade 7004VBR, pleased as punch with it. You obviously know the features of it since you had one already. I got mine for $55 (Canadian), can't go wrong at that price. Is there any way you can fix the router you do have, you should try that.

Well, to avert a revolt, I went to Office Max and picked up a D-Link
DI 604. With an instant rebate and mail in rebate the final cost is $29.99. I had no idea my wife and kids could be so testy without internet connection! LOL
When I get some time I'm going to take a look at the SMC and see if I can get it working. I kinda have my doubts though. It sounds like a cheap marracca.
