Backup your registy first....
Start --> Run --> Regedit
Export Registry and save everything. Then EDIT -> FIND and type in what you are looking for, and make sure Keys is checked for "Look at "
Hope that helps!

Hi serum17
When you are in regedit, navigate through by clicking the "plus" signs in front - until you reach that spot mentioned in galaxian and matt's posts: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer
If you click directly on "Explorer", a list of value(s) should show in the box to the right. See if one matches "DesktopProcess". If so, select "Modify" from the menu at the top of the regedit window, and delete the value "Desktop Process" listed in the box.
Don't delete anything else - and remember to back up the Registry before you start. (To get an up-to-the-minute backup, just run ScanReg from the Start/Run box, or navigate to Start/Programs/Accessories/System Tools/System Information . . and from the "Tools" menu select "Registry Checker").
Best of luck
. . . Gary
