Folks,
I've recently donated my 2nd CD-ROM to a mate, and would now like to fill the 5.25 bay thats left (lost the guard to cover it back up).
Any ideas? I was thinking of a temp monitor or something similar.
I've thrown out the idea of a DigiDoc 5 because there's far too much wiring (want clear air flow through case) and I don't really care about controlling my fans individually. Are there any similar solutions avaiable? Also I'm in the UK, so a UK retailer website would be appreciated.
Cheers, Phil.

How about a fan for a little more cooling?
Mount your hard drive in a Coolermaster hard drive housing.

Those PC's look pretty sweet!
I'd put in a fanbus. If you make it yourself, it'd be dirt cheap. http://www.bit-tech.net/article/52/ has all the info you should need.

What I'm doing is taking a beige face plate and putting four case badges across it. Behind the plate will be a clear light and I'll cut a square a little smaller than the badge so it'll light up the all the badges. I took off the metal backing on them and the light shows through.

I don't know if you need one or not, but how about a 6 in 1 card reader, if you don't need that, I would say get a 5.25 in fan bay to put in there, cooling can't hurt.

They had some different devices that can be put in a 5.25 bay. LIke USB plugs or possibly a Stereo Jack for head phones, or a Midi jack like they use for game controllers. Also some places sell the removable hard drive bays so you can place a back-up hard drive in a 5.25 bay. Some of these devices also have small fans that can pull fans over the hard drive. Some places also sell kits for lcd panels that can display case temp's or fan speed information. They had some kit they showed on toms hardware that let you put different kinds of jacks depending what you wanted. Places like www.tiger.direct has a lot of items like this.
