I have recently reinstalled windows xp and the keys " and @ on my keyboard are mixed up...is it because it is an english keyboard? I don't know how to change it either. Any suggestions?

Check control panel, keyboard, input locales. I would assume you need English (United Kingdom).

Spot on GLC, I see this all the time when people have reinstalled windows, just remember to set it as the default also.
