Memokit question

From what I understand, Memokit is a resource monitoring program that lets you know what programs are using how much RAM on your PC. Following is a list of the programs that are loaded on startup.

The programs that I have no idea what they're for are

I currently have one stick of 128MB and one of 256MB of RAM, for a total of 384MB. But when I have the above listed programs running, along with my ISP browser and IE, I only have 213MB of free RAM. How the heck can I be using up more than 128MB when before the 256MB was installed, everything ran fine but only a little slow online. Now I seem to be steadily losing RAM the longer I'm online. I have a firewall running, ZoneAlarm Pro, and it supposedly keeps any cookies out. When I have AIM and Kazaa Lite running, Memokit keeps flashing the low resources signal at me, even tho I still have about 100MB of RAM free.

Anybody know anything about this? Any suggestions? Thanx in advance!

MPREXE.EXE is a Microsoft file that allows Windows to have more then one client and protocol. MPR stands for Multi (or Multiple) Provider Router. It's primary function is to route incoming and outgoing packet between the adapter and different clients.

OK, I found out that khooker.exe, taskmon.exe, and sistray.exe (NOT SYSTRAY.EXE) are unnecessary and may cause probs, and as such should be deleted. One thing I'm not sure of is kernell32.dll. The site lists kern32.exe and kernel32.exe. But not kernell32.dll. Anybody know what this program is? Kern32.exe and kernel32.exe are indications of a virus according to the site pointd sent me to. I have run Trendmicro's Housecall and it has found nothing. Any suggestions on how to get rid of this if it is a virus? Thanks again!

Kernell32.dll is a dynamic library of the core of the Windows OS and should not be touched.

Sometimes the file kernel32.dll does get corrupted by viruses. You can run a complete virus scan with up-to-date definitions just to make sure your system is clean. If you don't currently have an antivirus program, you can go to http://www.trendmicro.com and run their online antivirus scan, called HouseCall. It's a complimentary service (and let's them brag a little about their other fee-based products, which are indeed pretty good).

It was over at pacs-portal that I found the reference to the viruses. If you haven't been there before, I recommend his site.
