Probably getting bombarded with people trying to get on it and voice their opinion. I bet ya his hosting company loves that. :)

or maybe his hosting company wasn't too happy with his comments. people that use award shows and the like to express their political veiwpoints upset me. the show is about honoring people, not politics.

I agree with homer15.

Take the award, thank all the little people who made it possible, then sit down and shut up!

I think it is impossible to do that for a person like Michael Moore, whose work has everything to do with politics.

That's fine but, why not let him express it in his work rather than an awards show.I have no problem with with his opinion but the academy awards show is not about foreign policy. To me it's just showboating.Besides the war's begun and the only end is victory, there's no turning back.Live with it and pray for a swift and as painless an ending as possible.

Showboating? In Hollywood? At a ceremony full of movie stars? I'm shocked! ;)

It's Hollywood, a city founded on the huge egos of its inhabitants. This stuff will happen, and it shouldn't matter. After all, nobody is forcing people to go see Michael Moore's films, or even the Oscars. I didn't watch them last night. I have much better things to do than to watch people showboat.

I agree homer15. I was being sarcastic. His hosting company will probably kick him off because all the traffic is bring their servers down.

I also hate when they use award shows to stage political statements....but it is still America and we have freedom of speech. We have to take the good with the bad. Lets be happy that we live in a country that he can voice his opinion like that. Someday you may want to speak out against something too.

I know I was too ;) . I checked out his website too, needless to say it was full of garbage. It's amazing that all these Hollywood director's , actor's and actress's become foreign policy expert's
when they encounter some fame and fortune.

I didn't see the award show because I hate seeing overpaid people get awards for doing nothing. CNN did however air the fat @ss, and it's a good thing he did that in front of hollywood pu$$ys, because I nearly put my foot through the TV.

Michael Moore is a flake. He's only protesting this war because he doesn't like Bush. Anyone who is so shallow that they have to protest something simply because they don't like the president has got major problems. These people take it way too personally, and Moore's personal bashing of the president is proof positive.

The Academy should have known what to expect for giving an award to a guy who portrays gun owners as redneck, trigger happy religious nuts.

I think Moore should spend his time shaving and showering and exercising. He needs it. :)

Funny how I come here to this site and see people bashing and name calling anyone who has a different opinion of the world we live in... seems that is all they can retort with. Where I go to discuss politics and life in general (MSN), the majority of the people are against this war and how our President and Staff are acting and those (few)who don't agree with us simply call us names and say we are flaky or anti-US or whatever stupid category they want to feel comfortable in placing us with (just like here). They never discuss... it's simply reduced to you are wrong and an idiot! People are entitled to to be heard without childish acts of retaliation.

And, they tell us we are the minority! Even though we are not! (figure 1 guy for every 10 making posts is telling the 9 they are in the minority... online it's easy but try that on the streets of NYC, with those 9 people standing in front of you!).

Just like our last election... Gore won it but our Govt wanted Bush to be President 'cause he's more 'war minded' like his father was.

If you actually read what his front page dialog stated, most of it is true... When was the last time you heard a story on MSNBC or CNN about an alternative to war? Since the war started... none... although I don't watch more than 30 minutes of news because that's all it takes to get all the new info there is... it's redundant, brainwashing on television.

You actually watch those award shows? Only ones I watch are music award shows for the performances (if some bands worth watching on on)... Be a lot better if they just posted the results on the news and online and deliver the statues to the winners. Why sit for 2 or 3 hours and watch a bunch of rich and famous people pat each other on the back for a job well done?

So, I'm sure whoever reads this is gonna disagree with me and start the bashing and name calling...... so go ahead! Who's 1st? You? YOU?

Question authority....

Dear penetrecion:

No. sorry but you actually won't find the bashing and name calling here, and I don't see where you are referring to that you see it here. I think you are trying to start it though, but that is not what goes on here, in fact this is the one topic that is not PC related and political that has been allowed to go on for a bit here, but I guarantee you will be shut down as soon as you start bashing and name calling...
This has been one of the few places (forums) anyone can come to and not get bashed and called stupid or anything like that for their opinion or their lack of knowledge on PC's. Were all here to learn togother and get along, hope you will be too...

Moderator comment:

The forum rules have been relaxed for this forum ONLY - but there are still lines that will NOT be crossed. I'd advise anyone who is even thinking about starting a fire in here to read the forum FAQ and the announcement first to get an idea of our philosophy. If you choose not to debate within the rules, I'd suggest that you find another board - our sister forum, www.forumclick.com , would be a good place to check out - there are essentially no rules over there.

If I were ever tempted to question the need to remove such a brutal and evil dictator as S.H. IT has been forever removed from my conscience by the deplorable acts that have been heaped upon the common everyday people of Iraq who have no honest voice to raise. They can speak no opposition without threat and risk of death. Thankyou God that I live in a country that allows all opinions to be voiced and even if I were to (which I wouldn't, as I think this is a just cause) engage in civil disobedience, as protesters often do, the worst I would have to worry about is a few hours in the local hoosgow and a fine. Pretty drastic difference between the two different approaches, don't you think?
