cdrw audio files

ok I just installed a cdr rw drive.

I want to be able to copy songs off my audio cd's and make cd's that will play on a cdr/rw player

I have no clue how

I believe any PC CD drive, like a CD-R/W drive should be able to play audio CDs. You might have to have an audio cable hooked up to the CD-drive and your soundcard, but I think you can play audio-CDs with just an IDE connection.

So do you want to copy your audio-CDs to CD-R or CD-RW?

The two main burning programs that I know of (Nero and Easy CD Creator) have a wizard to help you setup how to burn your CD.

Do you have Nero or Easy CD Creator?

Do you only have a CD-RW, or a CD-RW and another drive?

just the cdrw it replaced a cdrom that went bad it came with some software called bclips its a sony drive

I think you said you wanted to be able to copy files from a cd then make new cds. The answers you got so far are how to make copies of cds with software.
I use a freeware program called CDex and it will "rip" a track from a cd and save it on your hard drive. You can rip just one song or all the songs on the cd. You can choose to save it as a wav file format or a mp3 format. It works pretty easy. I believe it copies the song to c:\windows\temp. Just click and expand those new directories till you find your mp3 file. Then you can rename the file to the name of the song.

If you only have the single drive, "ripping" with CDEx is the best way. Create a new folder for your "rips" and keep them in .wav format if you are going to be making a compilation, that way you don't lose quality compressing them to .mp3 then re-expanding them to .cda, which is the same as .wav.

I've never used the Sony software so I can't be more specific.
