i've just assembled these parts: xp2400, asus a7n8x dlx MB, Corsair twinx 512MB RAM, Maxtor 80GB HD, Sapphire ATI9700pro, SB audigy gamer sound card. all graphics are fine except when using the 3d effects in games. ive watched movies, videos, (on media player) and seen all kinds my animations and moving objects on the web and no problems at all. now when playing a game, the graphics move very fast and smooth, but there are vertical or diagonal bars running down the screen or seeing only one side of my face or car. the background visuals all are fine. just most of the 3d objects are distorted. not all - just 60-70% of them. ive made all adjustments possible but one thing i cannot test and have a question about.-

i noticed awhile back when connecting my monitor cable that there is a pin missing from the middle row of the plug. i never paid any attention to another monitor plug - are there supposed to be any pins missing in the pattern? if not - what effect would that have, because i've noticed nothing until now and i dont have another monitor to test?

could this be my problem or does it sound like something else? any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

there is one pin in the monitor cable that isnt used at all, I doubt that is your problem, you can look at any vid card manual and it should show exactly what each pin is for
