The HP Deskjet 693C color printer that my family has isn't working properly. When it tries to print the paper doesn't get fedinto the machine. When we try to print it sounds as if something is spinning, to try and catch hold of a piece of paper and drag it into the printer from the tray. It just keps spinning and the paper never gets grabbed. A few times i have been able to push the paper forwards once the spinning begins, and it works properly. But other times when i do that it still doesn't work. the paper in the tray will not go any further in, and there is paper. Any ideas on if this could be fixed by purchasing some sort of replacement part. Im not sure exactly what part isn't working any insight on what might be causing the problem will be appreciated

Thanks

ILLPHIL:
Couple of things: Try cleaning the rubber rollers on the paper feed with rubbing alcohol to deglace the rollers.
Check to see if a bit of paper is stuck in the paper path.
And check to see if the paper pickup rollers are actually turning when it tries to print(if the rollers don't turn and still sound like motors running you may have something broke in the printer.
