That anyone who works/rules against Gore is slammed by his campaign staff?
For example: Florida Secretary of State Katherine Harris has been referred to as a "Soviet Commissar" and a "lackey".
Why can't the Gore camp just take the results as they have gone (counted twice) and move on? rather than recount (and recount and recount) counties?

"..Tens of millions of good people in Middle America voted Republican. But if you look closely at that map you see a more complex picture. You see the state where James Byrd was lynch-dragged behind a pickup truck until his body came apart--it's red. You see the state where Matthew Shepard was crucified on a split-rail fence for the crime of being gay--it's red. You see the state where right-wing extremists blew up a federal office building and murdered scores of federal employees--it's red. The state where an Army private who was thought to be gay was bludgeoned to death with a baseball bat, and the state where neo-Nazi skinheads murdered two African-Americans because of their skin color, and the state where Bob Jones University spews its anti-Catholic bigotry: they're all red too..."

The quote is from Paul Begala a former Clinton consultant. The comment is in reference to the map that showed how the the geographical areas of the United States had voted. Instead of commenting on the obvious, he decided to slander some of the states. This is indicative of the policies that have been used by the present administration.

Katherine Harris should have been smart enough to recuse herselffrom this issue she is a Republican Elector and as such definately partisan.
I hope after this is over that the conflct of interest is investigated and prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.

Yeah, I heard last night that if Gore loses Florida, his aides plan to make "Whitewater look like a picnic" in their investigation of Katherine Harris. The reason is simple. She is upholding the law. I guess that is something Democrats have a hard time with. They seem to want to make up laws as they go.

In most states the election board is made up of political hacks (regardless of the party), who should have been put in place? some life long democrat with an axe to grind.
I think that so far, she has acquitted herself as best she can in such a volatiel situtation. She has stuck to the law as it was written, as she was sworn to do when she took her oath of office.

If Harris should recuse herself because of being Republican, the Supreme Court should do the same, seeing how they're Dems. All she did was uphold the law - the justices are rewriting, not interpreting. It is they who are out of bounds.
I like the one I heard the other day - let's solve this the old-fashioned way - a duel at 10 paces between the 2 candidates.

bdunn,
You wish in Katherine's place was Hillary.
I give a very big respect to Katherine Harris, I've read about her, about her ambitions to be a politician[compare this to Hillary], I've read vabout her background/education[compare this again to Hillary's]

Heaven Forbid. Even though I am a democrat from NY I voted for Rick Lazio. I'm a moderate and think that John McCain would make a better president than either of these 2 bozos.
An elector from either party should not be the one to oversee the election.
bdunn, You have strayed into a right-wing thread. Be careful. http://207.228.234.134/elandslide/images/bush_harris_cheney.gif :)
