Are you tired of...

...hearing and reading about the war in every available communication medium? No matter what I read; no matter what I watch; all I see are blurbs about the war and stuff related to the war.

But what I am tired mostly of it those protesters that seem to have nothing else to do.

I wonder, don't they have a job?

I mean, yeah, I'm interested in a little stream of coverage, but right now, it seems to be dominating everything...

I think most of the protesters work at Starbucks and Borders. :)

Or infest big cities like SF or NY. Here in Vegas we got 2000 pro- Troops demonstrators. Even had Saddam in effigy. :D

my lady's dad works on the 4th floor of a building near a popular protest site in san francisco. he was telling me that every day he see's them get hauled off, and every day they come back. he was telling me he wished he had my paintball gun so he could kinda pick them off out the window.

a lot of protestors are college students, and i bet a majority of the guys there are just there to impress a girl.

I still think we should fence off San Francisco. We could hold a charity drive to raise funds for it. Interestingly, we'd probably raise more than enough to do it, too. :)

Protesting is their job, these are the same ones that protest at the world trade summits and just about every other thing that is protested. Most of their funding comes from enviro groups, the democratic party, and some independant fund raising.

I usually just watch ABC News at 6:30 to catch what is going on with the war, if I watch it any longer I start getting depressed. :(

As for the protestors they are just voicing their opinions which is their right, but as for me I just ignore them.

I flip through the cable channels in between shows to get caught up on the latest. They rehash every story until something new happens. I can't sit and watch them explain one event from 10 different viewpoints.

I watch CNN for about 2 hours every afternoon. It is the only real news source we get up here about the war. But the it seems CNN is more interested in sensationalism or being first than in good, coheasive reporting. I found I have to watch for that long in order to try and peice together all of the mish mash they are televising.

The other thing I have a problem with is that Wolf Blitzer character. He talks in a single monotone and bables and bables and bables. There have been many instances where he starts to introduce a news conference or the President but doesn't know when to shut up and we end up missing quite a bit of the open address of whomever is giving it. Then I spend the rest of the thing trying to figure out what the heck the speaker is talking about.

I suppose in the US you would be getting much more coverage then we are here in Canada. All I have been able to find on Canadian media is small blurps during regular news. Nowhere near enough to let Canadian's know what is happening.

If other countries are doing the same thing as Canada, it is no wonder there are so many protestors. None of those people have a clue as to what is really happening. In this modern day and age of instant communications, it is such a shame that people are so poorly informed.

Strider, ABC is one of the worse ways to get your news on this. They are hopelessly biased. You should broaden your horizons. Try cable. :)

They are all biased, even CNN. I just watch it too see what is happening, I usually sift through the junk. If I want to see what is going on (What the rest of the world is thinking), I surf the internet.

Jeez, I just went to a restaurant/bar for lunch today with a bunch of my friends, and low and behold, they had CNN on blaring about the war. Talk about putting a damper on a fun outing...

Of course they are all biased in one way or another. But, the network news (ABC, NBC, CBS) seem to be the worse. Yes, CNN slants left. Fox slants right. But, if you want a true balance, watch some Fox and some CNN. Personally, I think Fox provides a good balance on its own, but some would disagree. But, no matter how you slice it, the network news quality is awful, IMO.

I wish I had enough passion inside me that I would stand up for a cause. Whether you agree with their veiws of not, you should respect them-not ridicule them. At least they are out there trying to change the world for what they believe is better. They arent just sitting there typing their opinion on the computer.

I do have enough passion to stand up for a cause. The cause of freedom, the cause of moral good, the cause of Christ.... I respect their right to say what they want to say, but I hold in contempt what they are saying and the timing with which they are saying it. In the whole they are rebellious, immoral busybodies who create a lot of pain for the troops and for those who love the troops.
I type my opinion on my computer into the internet where it can reach those who are just beginning to think, I type it in letters to the editor and I type it for church groups.
I express my freedom of speech in respectful, moral ways.

Stuff like "General Johnson spilled his coffee this morning over today's battle plan and had to have an emergency meeting with his advisors to redo it."

I know it's a huge exaggeration, but stuff like that I don't really need to hear about. :p
