Boot Problems

Hello,

A friend of mine is having trouble with his AMBIOS CMOS Setup. His AMBIOS is not finding the hard drives (not even using the auto and the F3 buttons). When it does however, and after he sets up the settings and restarts, the settings are lost.

Again, this is not on my computer so I can not list the specs of his machine currently, but if anyone tells me what he/she needs to know I can find out in an instant,

One more thing,

The AMBIOS CMOS Setup cannot find the hard drives on the computer AT ALL.

Are the master/slave settings correct?

Try booting up with just one drive.

Some newer drives have the option of "single master" and "master with slave present". You may want to check on that too. ;)
