What is a Dynamic Disk?

I installed Partition Magic 7.0 on my computer that is running Windows 2000 Pro and I'm trying to create a new partition on my D: Drive, but it's not letting me and it says to use the operations menu instead of wizard. When I pull down the operations menu nothing is active (Highlighted), so I can't do that. I am stumped on this one, any help will be appreciated.
