I am working on setting up a user reviews system which will completely take over for this forum.

http://www.pcmech.com/reviews/

Your registrations here in the forum will allow you to participate there.

I invite everyone to begin using the system. I am still working on ironing out some issues, but this will completely take over for this forum soon and I will be closing this software review forum soon.

OK, I think I misunderstood your intent. This will be for users to REVIEW (their opinion) of posted products?

There is no option for a user to start a new thread?

I was simply thinking of recommendations for new users who are not aware of cerrtain maintenance tools (adware/spyware removers, anti-virus) and how to keep them up to date, etc.

It seems there are a LOT of questions in the regular threads of PC Media tech forums relating to these subjects. Rather than having them spread all through the threads, maybe a central area could be set up where new users can go to find the basics (what we all take for granted) of regular mantenance. Unless I missed something and such an area already exists...

Just a thought, maybe posted in the wrong place?!?

The guidelines for using this forum are in the other sticky thread.

Count me in. Apps & GP software cover the gamut from rich to rotten and they should be given public recognition accordingly.

Sounds like a great idea drisley! A non-commercial review site...I thought those sites were almost on the edge of extinction :)

You gonna need some tight rules though. It would be a pitty if we would see nothing but AMD-Alien vs Intel-Predator wars.

When this forum Closes will you pass the reviews from this forum to the next system or will they be lost and discarted?

I'm having trouble logging into the review forum on the page in your first post. It tells me "Our records show that you have already registered under the name of USMDude. If you have lost your password, click here. If you would like to modify your profile, click here." whenever I click Register, and it'll tell me "Invalid login. Please check your username and password, or register" whenever I try to login, even though I'm using the same username and password for these forums.

If you are already logged into the forums, you are logged in there too, no need to log in again.
